2018년 9월말 현재 가장 주목할만한 신렌즈 시그마 아트 40mm F1.4

새로운 렌즈가 많이 발표되는 요즘입니다.

제가 주목하는 부분은 렌즈의 해상력도 있지만 보케도 아주 중시합니다.

MTF 차트만 보고도 보케를 대충 예상할 수 있는데 근래 발표된 렌즈 중에서 가장 주목할 렌즈는 시그마 아트 40mm F1.4입니다.

사실 제가 크고 무거운 렌즈를 결코 좋게 보지는 않습니다.다만 성능 자체가 아주 특별하게 좋은 경우엔 크기와 무게는 문제 삼지 않습니다. 성능에 지불해야 하는 수고이죠.

제가 왜 주목하는지 그림을 보면서 진행하겠습니다.

일단 차트상으로는 Geometrical MTF가 미세하게 더 나은 것으로 보입니다.여기서 유심히 봐야 할 부분은 동심원 방향 차트와 방사 방향 차트의 벌어짐입니다.일반 렌즈의 경우 벌어진 간격이 큰데 특히 주변부로 갈수록 그 사이가 벌어지는 경우가 대부분입니다.그 벌어진 사이가 클수록 보케가 부드럽지 않고 까칠해집니다.아트 40mm F1.4는 그 벌어짐이 아주 적음을 볼 수 있습니다.이는 곧 보케가 부드럽다는 것을 의미하고요.제가 근래 나온 렌즈의 MTF 차트 본 것 중에서 가장 벌어짐이 적습니다.아트 40은 시네 렌즈 기준으로 설계했다고 하더군요.시네 렌즈는 일반 렌즈보다 표현력에 중점을 두고 설계합니다.

↑왜곡도 아주 적은 편입니다.

↑개방시 주변부 광량 저하는 꽤 있습니다.

위에서 보케가 상당히 기대된다는 말을 했는데 샘플 이미지도 보이더군요.실제 이미지에서 과연 보케가 어떨지 직접 확인해 보죠. 각 이미지 클릭하면 좀 더 크게 보입니다.

↑배경 우측을 보면 보케가 아주 부드럽습니다.하일라이트도 테두리가 까칠하지 않고요.

↑ 왼쪽 물결 부분의 하일라이트가 아주 부드럽게 묘사되었습니다.일반 렌즈와는 차원이 좀 다른 표현력입니다.주관적이지만 컬러도 상당히 차분해 보이고요.

↑ 이 이미지도 전반적인 묘사가 아주 부드럽습니다.전경과 배경 모두 번잡함이 없습니다.

↑위와  마찬가지입니다.

↑배경의 밝은 부분과 어두운 부분의 경계가 아주 스무스하게 처리되엇습니다.

샘플 이미지가 많지는 않지만 전반적인 묘사력을 보기엔 모자람이 없습니다.근래 많은 렌즈 샘플 이미지를 보았지만 이 정도로 묘사력이 좋은 렌즈는 보지 못했습니다.다만 무게가 1.2kg으로서 상당히 크고 무거운 렌즈라서 체력이 딸리는 분들에겐 신포도가 될 것 같습니다만 그렇다고 너무 무거워서 도저히 못쓸 렌즈도 아닙니다.보통 체력만 되면 크게 문제될 크기와 무게는 아니라고 보고요.

결론적으로 시그마 아트 40mm F1.4는 부드러운 보케와 칼 같은 선예도 두 가지 모두를 잡은 렌즈로서 고급 표준 렌즈계를 평정하지 않을까 예상하는 렌즈입니다.
